Sourcing Trip to China

Mike, Andy and Darren have just returned from a great promotional items sourcing trip to China including a fascinating trip to one of our plastic items factories located near Ningbo, a beautiful city just south of Shanghai. We have returned inspired with some new ideas for various promotional projects and enthused at the factory relationships we have developed.
There are a wide variety of different types of plastic we use to manufacture our plastic items depending on the size, shape, style and function of the item but one of the key elements is not only ensuring that you are using the right manufacturer of the item but also that they in turn are using the right the manufacturers of the plastic resin and therefore ensuring compliance with European REACH and food safety standards.
Another key element is using the right mould manufacturer. A good mould makes a lot of difference and requires good quality steel and high precision engineering. Fortunately we also had the opportunity to visit our mould manufacturer who has extensive experience and is located reasonably near to our plastic moulding factory.
In case you are interested there are various types of plastic moulding including:
Blow moulding - where the mouth has to be smaller than the stomach
Injection moulding - where the mouth is always larger than the stomach
Rotary moulding - eg for watering cans
Our factory offers printing on these items using various different techniques including:
Silkscreen printing - for printing solid colours on curved surfaces
Pad printing - for printing solid colours on flat surfaces
Heat Transfer printing - for printing images on flat or curved surfaces.
